CRAFTING THE NARRATIVE
The colour blue represents clearness, objectivity, gentleness, neutrality and clarity - it inspires confidence and gives a sense of security, which created a very interesting contrast with the concept of a nightmare. Our aim was to create an experience, because dreams don't really have a clear narrative. Sound, light colour and acting were key points to achieve this.
Myself and four other students decided to embark on a six-month journey to make a short film about a young girl's underwater dream. The surreality and absurdity of dreams and their strange narratives inspired us to make this film. We were ready to face the challenge of capturing in a visual image something so magical and illogical that takes place in our minds without us being aware of it. Our aim was to make this short film like a poem.
